Saltwrights Secures Major Backing as Norfolk’s Sea Salt Story Continues to Grow

09 October 2026

At Salle Moor Hall Farm, we’ve always believed that the most exciting rural enterprises are those rooted in heritage, craft, and a sense of place. This week, that belief was echoed on a countywide stage as Saltwrights, the artisan sea‑salt company based right here on the farm, announced a significant new partnership with one of Norfolk’s most established family businesses.

Founded in 2024 by Ben and Frances Jackson, Saltwrights has quickly become known for its handcrafted Norfolk sea salt — a product shaped entirely by natural processes and the character of our coastline. No two harvests are identical; each batch carries its own texture, flavour notes, and story. It’s this authenticity that has now caught the attention of Jarrolds, the iconic Norwich retailer and long‑standing champion of Norfolk enterprise.

A Growth Fund Backing a Heritage Revival

Saltwrights has been selected for support through the Jarrold Growth Fund, a programme designed to help small and medium‑sized Norfolk businesses scale with expert guidance. Through the fund, Saltwrights will receive tailored support from Yawn Marketing, the Jarrold Group’s in‑house marketing agency.

Their work will focus on strengthening Saltwrights’ online presence — particularly its Shopify platform — refining advertising activity, and shaping a wider marketing strategy to support the next phase of growth. For a young craft producer, this kind of specialist input is transformative.

Jarrold Group’s business development team highlighted two things that drew them to Saltwrights: the quality of the product, and the story behind it. Saltwrights is reviving a piece of Norfolk’s heritage, using natural methods that echo centuries of coastal salt production. In a world of mass‑manufactured seasoning, their approach stands out for its provenance and individuality.

A Milestone for the Makers Behind the Salt

Frances Jackson described the partnership as “invaluable” for a growing business. Access to expert marketing and e‑commerce support will help Saltwrights reach new audiences while staying true to its mission: celebrating Norfolk’s long history of salt making and producing a distinctive, characterful product.

For us at Salle Moor Hall Farm, it’s a proud moment. Saltwrights began as an idea nurtured on our land, and it’s now becoming part of a wider movement to champion Norfolk craft, heritage, and rural entrepreneurship.

A Bright Future for Norfolk Sea Salt

With Jarrolds’ backing and the creative expertise of Yawn Marketing, Saltwrights is poised for an exciting period of growth — one that will bring Norfolk sea salt to more kitchens, more shops, and more curious food lovers across the region and beyond.

We’re delighted to see this next chapter unfold and proud to host a business that embodies the spirit of innovation and tradition that defines Salle Moor Hall Farm.
