Harvest Season at Salle Moor Hall Farm

Apples, Autumn, and Organic Magic

As the mornings turn crisp and the hedgerows blush with berries, something wonderful stirs at Salle Moor Hall Farm. It’s harvest season—and that means apples. Lots of them.

Nestled in the heart of Norfolk, our 24-acre apple orchard is not just the largest certified organic orchard in the county—it’s a living, breathing celebration of biodiversity and good old-fashioned fruit-growing. With over 20 varieties of apples ripening across the rows, it’s a sensory feast: the citrusy zing of Cox, the honeyed depth of Meridian, the nutty crunch of Russet, the ruby glow of Ida Red, and the dependable heft of a classic Bramley.

What Makes Our Orchard Special?

  • Certified Organic: No pesticides, no synthetic fertilisers—just soil, sunshine, and nature doing its thing.
  • Diverse Varieties: From heritage favourites to lesser-known gems, our apples offer something for every palate.
  • Norfolk’s Largest: We’re proud to be the biggest organic apple orchard in the region, and we take that responsibility seriously.

But harvest isn’t just about apples—it’s about people. There may only be a few of us out there among the trees, but that makes the camaraderie all the richer. We share stories between rows, swap jokes over crates, and celebrate the satisfying thud of apples landing in baskets like small victories. It’s hard work, yes—but there’s something deeply rewarding about working side by side, knowing every apple picked is part of something bigger.

Want to Get Involved?

And if you’re a juicer, baker, cider-maker, or just a serious apple lover—we offer bulk organic apples direct from the orchard. Perfect for preserving, pressing, or simply munching your way through autumn. Got some big ideas about our big orchard? Let us know.
